Organise a high protein meal plan with clear macros

When you already have a protein target, recipe nutrition can help you organise meals without guessing what each serving contributes.

Read the nutrition per serving

Compare recipes using the same portion basis. A dish with a larger serving can show more protein without being a better match for your plan. In LeanMeals, recipe pages show calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat and fibre; adjusting the servings changes the displayed nutrition and ingredient amounts.

Look at the whole day

Plan breakfast, lunch, dinner and any snacks you intend to eat, then review the totals against your own target. A meal plan should reflect foods you enjoy and can prepare, as well as the numbers. This guide helps with organisation; it does not prescribe a protein target or promise a particular health or fitness result.

Match portions to your routine

Increasing a serving increases the other nutrients and calories too. Read the full nutrition information before changing the portion. If a meal does not fit, consider a recipe alternative rather than making the serving much larger or smaller than you would normally eat.

With the appropriate LeanMeals membership, the meal-swap tool suggests alternatives close to the current meal’s calories and protein. You can review the suggested recipes and choose one that fits your ingredients and cooking time.

Turn the plan into a shopping list

Once the meals and portions are settled, combine ingredients across the week. Check what you have before shopping and compare required quantities with the packs you need to buy. For a plan that also considers spending, use our UK budget meal planning guide.

Record what you actually eat

A planned meal and an eaten meal are different records. Use the food diary to mark a planned meal as eaten, or enter something else if your day changes. That keeps your recorded totals tied to what you logged, rather than the original menu.

Find recipes you will want to repeat

Browse recipes sorted by protein per serving and check their ingredients and methods. Keep a selection of meals that work for busy days and meals you enjoy cooking when you have more time. Revisit your plan when your routine changes.
